The fresh flavours awakened the palate in one of those eye-popping moments that make you stop, take notice and share the discovery with your dining partners. The authentic version had elegant, lively flavours that brightened the palate with a sudden flavour surprise from the tomato, mushroom and shrimp. I ordered both versions of the Tom Yum to compare and, wow, what a difference. On the menu you'll find traditional dishes such as Tom Yum (lemongrass soup) and Pad Thai - not so surprising you say? What is surprising is that there are both authentic and Canadianized versions. Thai food is excitingly engaging, brilliantly clear and delightfully delicious, yet few of us really know what it’s all about. So to sum it up, screw Chang Noi's and I'm never going to return.Įnjoy and please regret your decision not to even acknowledge your mistake.īy Restaurantica12 MaTime for Thai by Lynn Ogryzloįor tasty Asian cuisine, there’s nothing like the real thing The jist of it is that after about 20 minutes on the phone they basically came back with there was nothing they would do. They nonchalantly passed on even apologizing for the mix up and proceeded to tell me there was nothing they could do. I called immediately to let them know about my dissatisfaction with the service not only with them switching up my order but also not even calling me about my order being ready. The worst was yet to come when I unpacked the food and it turns out one of the 3 dishes I ordered was completely wrong. A tad bit upset I headed to the restaurant only to find that my order had been sitting there for ~30 minutes based on how cold the food was when I got home. Here is where the issues started, about an hour later I was still waiting to hear back about my food being ready. The guy behind the counter took my order, I paid, took my receipt and headed home with him saying that they would call me when the food is ready. It started off by me heading to the restaurant to try and get a table, they said they were busy which is understandable on a Saturday night. I have never really had a problem with service until I decided to try a takeout order. So a little background, I have been to Chang Noi's about 40 times, and the food is above average for Thai food in the Niagara region, about average when compared to the GTA. Very good, wish we stayed longer to try the whole menu.By jamilv NovemWORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Pan fried sea bass fillet (comes with wedges, to die for)Īglio olio shrimp (thanks to chef to accommodate my craving as it's not on menu) Other than that, great food and location :)Ĭame here after checking out food options outside of Santhiya (don't bother with buffet or alacarte restaurant) We all do, but when it's too obvious or theatrical, it can really make people feel bad. As an advice to him I would encourage to pay attention to staff that is having a really bad day. The restaurant manager is just the sweetest guy just like most others. But this embarassing scene was all in front of me, making me feel like I shouldn't have asked. I felt really bad, my gf and I are always extremely careful about being kind, show appreciation, smile to all workers and never bother them. She lazily went for the menu and gave it to him so that he could show me. This one lady in green (pointless to mention the name) standing 3 meters from me literally and theatrically snorted and rolled her eyes when the trainee I asked a dessert price to asked her how much that was (he obviously didn't remember). The trainees that served us were the nicest ever (in white uniforms). I was pretty sad with the way some waitresses in green uniforms (the "full time" employees) were looking really annoyed and pissed off. I would recommend the set menu, which will set you back 1300 Baht for 2 but will fill you up and let you taste a nice set of 6 dishes! Really good dinner - we were served dishes way more sophisticated than avg on the island.
